Transfer From Captivity – GMG Colossians Study Day 5

Colossians 1:13-14:

“He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves. We have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, in Him.”

We live in the tangible representation of an unseen word. Those who, in the unseen world, are captives in the domain of darkness  are all around us and the evidence of their position in the unseen world abounds – alcoholism, sexual addiction & perversion, drug abuse, hoarders, broken people.

They are captives. And they don’t even realize it, or realize why, because they don’t know about or believe in the unseen reality.

That is why Jesus tells us to bear witness. That’s why the fruit of the Spirit is so important. That’s why our lives, when compared to a captive’s, must come out extremely different in comparison.

Our tangible, visible existence should reflect our freedom from captivity and our position in the unseen world!

We have a role to play in telling people, through our words and actions, that they are eligible for a transfer from captivity to freedom. We have the ability and opportunity to show them what that freedom looks like.

How else will they know?
